I am excited to announce the beginning of the Team Oasis project. Got to meet my awesome new team members Jenson Dantes, Veronica Ramirez, and Bomin Kim. Super excited to work together this quarter with such talented artists.
Concept
Our project is a mock advertisement for Sprite. The story is that a treasure hunting pirate is searching for an unexpected treasure amongst a shipwrecked beach. Given the pirate history of savannah along with the lemon and lime characteristics of sprite having a sea faring energy to it our team wanted to tell a cool story.
Location Scout
I made two trips to Tybee Island this weekend to find potential filming locations for the spot. The first trip I just walked around taking some photos trying to get a vibe for the compositions of the area.
On the second trip we brought a camera to shoot some visualization footage and plan out our shots.
FX
As an fx artist I will be working on the beach wave effects. My goal is to create seamless wave effects that integrate the wreckage into our captured plates.
I will also be heavily focused on karma and USD workflows in Solaris, exploring and troubleshooting this new workflow on the SCAD systems.
